The Sandusky Fire Department is a full-service fire department providing Fire, Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Technical Rescue (Scuba, Trench, High Angle, Structural Collapse and Confined Space). Sandusky Fire also supports the Countywide Hazardous Materials Team and has several technicians on staff.

The largest fire department in Erie County, the Sandusky Fire Department has 50 career firefighters and responds from three stations with an ISO rating of 3 from the National Fire Protection Association.

Proudly serving nearly 25,000 permanent residents for 14.7 square miles, Sandusky’s northernmost boundary is Lake Erie and the surrounding shoreline. Adjoining neighbors include Perkins Township (South), the City of Huron, and Huron Township (East), and Margaretta Township (West).

The City of Sandusky is situated in the heart of Vacationland with much to offer families regarding outdoor entertainment and recreation. Cedar Point is one of the world’s largest Amusement Parks and is in Sandusky. Cedar Point’s daily attendance adds 30,000 - 50,000 visitors to the population of our city from May through October.
