The City of Sandusky will resume in-person public meetings at City Hall beginning with the City Commission meeting on Monday, May 24 at 5:00 pm. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and related safety protocols, all public meetings up to now have been conducted virtually.

“As has been the case throughout our pandemic response, the safety of our community is our top priority, including all of our citizens and staff,” said Richard Brady, Commission President. “All adults in Erie County who want the vaccine have the opportunity to be fully vaccinated. Based on that and recent revised health orders from the Ohio Department of Health, we feel like we can safely reopen public meetings for in-person, socially-distanced attendance.”

The decision to restore restricted in-person meetings was based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the Ohio Department of Health, and in accordance with public health orders from the Ohio Department of Health.

The City will continue to live stream all public meetings on the City’s YouTube page allowing the public the ability to watch public meetings from the safety of their homes.

Members of the public attending City Commission meetings in-person will be offered the opportunity for public participation as indicated on the meeting agenda. For members of the public not attending in-person, questions or comments can be sent to the commission clerk, McKenzie Spriggs at mspriggs@ci.sandusky.oh.us or by calling 419.627.5850. The deadline to email or call-in questions for City Commission meetings is 12:00 pm on the day of the commission meeting.
